2025 Annual IP Appreciation Event & PA Certificate of Commendation

Since 2014, the Public Authority of Santa Clara County (PA) has hosted the annual Independent Provider (IP) Appreciation Event, celebrating Registry IPs who fill urgent caregiving needs.

At each IP Appreciation Event, we recognize IPs from our Registry by providing resources from vendors and inviting representatives from the Board of Supervisors (BOS), In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), and the IHSS Advisory Board. BOS representatives present a proclamation from the County of Santa Clara, designating November as National Home Care and Family Caregivers Month to honor and support the invaluable contributions of home care workers.
During this year’s celebration, which included fun activities and recognition of exceptional caregivers, the PA received its first Certificate of Commendation from the County of Santa Clara BOS. This commendation acknowledges our efforts to empower caregivers and strengthen the caregiving community through education and advocacy in Santa Clara County.

Providers will see this wage increase for hours worked on or after January 1, 2026.

Providers Can Receive Free PPE

The Public Authority has limited quantities of masks and gloves available for pickup by providers.  Orders can be made once a month and picked up (generally the last Friday of each month) at the PA office.

IHSS Open House Event

In April 2025, the Santa Clara County IHSS Advisory Board (AB) held an open house with resources from 19 agencies and community organizations, including time to speak directly with an IHSS representative. Read the highlights from this year's Open House on the 2024-2025 Annual Report.
Given the event's success, the IHSS AB plans to host another consumer event in 2026.
In the meantime, review the 2024 IHSS Consumer Symposium for information on programs supporting IHSS consumers, their providers, and families.
